Meet the New SNHU Term Names!
Starting in May 2024, SNHU is implementing a new naming format for our academic terms.
Our aim is to bring more clarity and simplicity to your academic journey. The revised format will include the year, start month and end month for each term. If you have any questions about these new term names, please contact your academic advisor or coach.
Each term also includes a one- or two-letter code that indicates the length of term (see table below).
a: Year in which the term begins
b: Length of the term (see table below)
c: The sequential number of the term within the calendar year (This example is the 3rd 8-week term of the calendar year)
d: Months the term runs
2024 A-2 (May-Aug)
Undergraduate and graduate campus 16-week summer terms, CBE, non-GEM summer term
2024 C-4 (Jun-Aug)
Undergraduate online 8-week summer term
2024 D-2 (Mar-May)
Graduate online 10-week spring term
A= Undergraduate and graduate campus full 16-week term, CBE 16-week terms*
B= Undergraduate and graduate CBE full 16-week term (alternate start dates)
C= Undergraduate online full 8-week term
D= Graduate online full 10-week term
YL= Yearlong (Global Education Movement (GEM) students)
*Additionally, some campus courses (in A terms) will be offered as running for just the first 8 weeks or second 8 weeks of the term. This option, if available, will be shown at registration.
