New - AI Statement in Course Syllabi

As artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to evolve, efforts have been made to support our faculty and learners with resources and guidelines aimed at creating awareness of appropriate usage, while upholding academic integrity.

Beginning with the 2024 D-4 (Oct-Dec) graduate term and the 2024 C-6 (Oct-Dec) undergraduate term, course syllabi will include a new statement for students to reference regarding artificial intelligence. This statement will outline general AI usage guidelines and will include a resource for students to understand the general do's and don'ts of AI in the SNHU classroom. Associate deans will be reaching out in the near future to help you best understand the guidelines within your discipline.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Faculty Support. You can also review the new AI page that has been added to the COLT Site for current resources and guidance.

TEDxSNHU 2025 - Call for Speaker Nominations

The Ethics Council is excited to announce a call for speaker nominations for our third annual TEDx SNHU event on February 27, 2025, centered on the theme of “Breaking Barriers.” In a world that constantly challenges us to push the limits of what is possible, this theme seeks to spotlight individuals and ideas that shatter obstacles, redefine boundaries, and inspire change.

This is where YOU come in. We are looking for dynamic speakers from within the greater SNHU community (students, alumni, faculty or staff) who have unique stories, innovative solutions, and visionary insights to share. Whether it’s breaking through social, cultural, technological, or personal barriers, nominate yourself or someone you know to share their powerful narrative on this inspiring platform.

Please complete this survey to nominate a speaker no later than Sunday, October 13. You may nominate yourself.

See the nomination criteria below:
  • Nominees must not have presented at a TEDx event previously.
  • All nominees will be considered by the organizing committee. Eligible speakers will then be contacted for additional information.
  • Please note that submitting duplicate nominations does not increase the likelihood of being selected by the organizing committee.
  • Speakers must be present on-site in Manchester, NH for two days.
  • Speakers will have a coach working with them and providing support throughout the preparatory process.
  • TEDx rules stipulate that speakers may not be paid.
*Those who have previously undergone the nomination process are welcome to submit again.

More details on the event will follow in future communications. Please contact TEDxSNHU@snhu.edu with any questions you may have.

Travel expenses for non-local speakers will be covered.

Upcoming Holiday

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, SNHU Offices will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024. Please consider the following as you plan for the holiday:

Labor Day (Monday, September 2, 2024): There are no impacts to faculty or students for the Labor Day holiday. Please plan accordingly as due dates and grading expectations remain the same.

While you are not expected to work on the holiday, be aware that students may email or post questions in your course on the holiday. Every effort should be made to respond to these within 24 hours of receipt.

Have a safe, enjoyable, and restful Labor Day!

Happy Founders Day - SNHU Turns 92!
Each year, SNHU recognizes Founders Day on September 12 in honor of the day it was established in 1932 by Harry Alfred Benjamin “H.A.B.” Shapiro. This year, we look forward to celebrating SNHU's 92nd birthday with fun and impactful activities, including the 2024 Founders Day Giving Challenge.

This challenge offers those within and outside the SNHU community an opportunity to donate to support student scholarships. Between September 12-20, show your Penmen pride and join the movement in three easy ways: GIVE, ADVOCATE or CHALLENGE.

Visit the SNHU Alumni page for more fun ways to celebrate Founders Day. Also, use the hashtag #SNHUFoundersDay on social media to share your SNHU memories.

Happy Birthday to SNHU!
